TRAIL WORK IN ACTION!

The Arizona Cycling Association brought an awesome group of young riders, and families to Payson to put in some volunteer work on the Ubuntu Trail at the Payson Event Center! Some even camped out overnight.

From 9–11 a.m., these volunteers rolled up their sleeves and helped improve the trail they’ll return to race on this October. It’s great to see young athletes investing their time and energy into the trails and communities that make their sport possible.

A special thank you to Payson Parks and Rec Adventure Coordinator, Rickus Grobler for the hard work, coordination, and dedication that goes into creating opportunities like this and continuing to improve Payson’s outdoor recreation experiences.

We’re excited to welcome the Arizona Cycling Association back to Payson for race day this October!

Keeping Payson clean, while giving back to those who served.

On September 12, is calling on the community to roll up our sleeves and help clean up the yards of local veterans.

Then, on September 13, we’ll trade our work gloves for BBQ plates as we gather to celebrate and honor those who served.

A Friendly Elk Reminder!

One of the many things that makes Payson so special is sharing our community with the incredible wildlife that calls Rim Country home. Seeing elk wandering through town is a unique part of life here and something both residents and visitors love to experience.

As beautiful as they are, elk are still wild animals, and it’s important to enjoy them safely and respectfully. Please give them plenty of space, never approach or attempt to touch them, keep pets at a safe distance, and always be especially cautious when driving through areas where elk are present.

Take the photos, enjoy the view, and appreciate one of the things that makes Payson such a special place to live and visit, just remember to admire our elk from a safe distance!

Our Public Safety Department was proud to join Tonto Rim Search & Rescue for the groundbreaking ceremony of their new home base for training and equipment storage. This new facility will provide greater efficiency, organization, and preparedness as their team continues its commitment to excellence in emergency response.

Tonto Rim Search & Rescue is an invaluable partner to the Town’s public safety services, working alongside our teams to help ensure a coordinated, efficient response to emergencies throughout Payson and the surrounding areas. We are grateful for their continued dedication to keeping our community and Rim Country safe.

Our Payson Parks and Rec team is gearing up for a full season of youth flag football! With a packed league ahead, our team is putting in the time and training to make sure this season is fun, organized, and memorable for every player and family involved.
