Payne Springs Fire Rescue is a 100% volunteer fire department providing services to a 42 square mile area on Cedar Creek Lake. PSFR operates out of three stations and has an ISO rating of 4. We operate 3 Engines, 3 Brush Trucks, 2 Tankers, 1 Command unit, and 1 Medical first response unit. Payne Spring Volunteer Fire Department, Inc. (d/b/a) Payne Springs Fire Rescue is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. As such, your donation may be considered a charitable donation.

Henderson County Emergency Management is aware of questions about a warning sign posted near a well site in the Eustace area.

The sign is connected to well-capping work being done under the direction of the Texas Railroad Commission. This is not a new well opening or a new operation beginning. It is the opposite. The work is part of the process to cap wells in that area.

The contractor hired for the work contacted Henderson County Emergency Management and provided the required contingency information before work began. Warning signs were posted as part of that safety process.

At this time, we know this is the first well site where the contractor is beginning work. We do not yet have confirmed information about the full schedule or which wells may be addressed next.

Henderson County Emergency Management will continue to monitor the local safety side of this work and share confirmed information as needed. Because the Texas Railroad Commission regulates this work, technical or regulatory questions about the well-capping process should be directed to that agency.

This morning at 0147 hours the volunteers of PSFR were alerted for a structure fire in the Golden Oaks subdivision. Units arrived to find smoke showing and made an interior attack. The fire was contained to a room and contents. All searches were negative.

The Henderson County Fire Marshal was notified to investigate the fire.

PSFR were assisted by the following agencies:

Eustace Fire
Henderson County Fire Marshal
UT Health EMS

Yesterday afternoon the volunteers of PSFR responded to a traumatic injury call that required the PT to be transported by a helicopter. Crews assisted EMS on scene and set up a landing zone at the Enchanted Oaks soccer field.
