In addition to the generous donation from Elson’s Paxton Sanitary System, the City of Paxton will be providing additional dumpsters for storm-related cleanup. Temporary dumpsters will be placed at the City Buildings located at 755 N. Railroad Ave, behind the City of Paxton Police Department.

Please review Elson’s list of items they cannot accept at the landfill before bringing items to the dumpsters. https://elsonsanitary.com/items-we-dont-take/

Unfortunately, at this time, we are unable to accept large upholstered furniture in order to allow as many residents as possible to utilize the available dumpster space. Please contact your trash service provider to make arrangements for the removal of these items.

As a reminder, an Electronic Recycling Event will be held at the same location on September 5th beginning at 9:00 a.m.

Please help us keep the dumpsters available for residents who need the space due to storm damage. The area is under video surveillance, and we greatly appreciate everyone’s cooperation in helping ensure these resources are used appropriately.

Working together, we can all help our neighbors who have suffered considerable losses as a result of the storm. Thank you for your continued support and cooperation.

If you have experienced damage from the storms, the City of Paxton Emergency Response Services has been hard at work to find means of assistance for our residents. Please complete the survey to provide them with facts to allow for them to have accurate reporting. The survey is not required, but is a convenience in clarifying the supporting documentation the state is required to submit to the U.S. Small Business Administration when requesting an Economic Injury Disaster Loan Declaration. If your home is inhabitable and you need immediate emergency assistantance you may contact Andrew Turner at 217-781-3128.

The City of Paxton Street Department is currently prioritizing the removal of debris that is blocking streets and driveways. We appreciate your patience as storm cleanup efforts continue.

If you have storm debris from your private property, you can assist our crews by placing it at the curb for pickup. Collection will be completed as time and resources allows. The City of Paxton brush pile, located at 1945 E 200N Rd, will be open as usual from sun up to sun down for residents of Paxton.
