The heat didn't get Pawling Middle School's fifth and sixth graders down as they kicked off field day season last Friday! 🌞🥇

Students enjoyed a variety of outdoor activities throughout the day, participating in traditional games like three legged, potato sack and relay races, soccer and capture the flag and, of course, tug-of-war. Our staff helped them beat the heat with jugs of ice cold water, ice pops and frequent breaks to promote safety alongside all of the fun!

We are so grateful to PCMS physical education teachers Mr. Good and Mr. Grippo for organizing the field day festivities as well as Officer Phil and all of the staff helpers for their assistance! A special shout out also goes to the seventh and eighth grade volunteers who helped make the day a success. 🐯

🏃‍♀️ UPDATE: While competing against some of New York State's top distance runners in the 3,000-meter race this weekend at the NYSPHSAA Track & Field State Championship, Pawling sophomore Elizabeth Walsh finished 14th in Class C and was among the top sophomore finishers in the state with a time of 10:56.

She had an fantastic season and represented Pawling with determination sportsmanship and, of course, Tiger Pride. Great work, Elizabeth!

We were thrilled to recognize Pawling Central School District's 2025-26 Scholar Athletes at the Board of Education meeting on Tuesday this week!🏆

To earn this distinction, students must excel both academically and athletically -- maintaining an average of 90 or above while participating in a sport during each of the first three quarters of the school year. An impressive 62 students achieved that milestone this year, representing both Pawling Middle School and Pawling High School in grades seven through 12.

"I don't want to understate how difficult this accomplishment is," said Director of Athletics Mr. Bellucci. "Congratulations to all of our Scholar Athletes!"

Surrounded by family members, friends and Pawling supporters, each Scholar Athlete was recognized individually with a pin and certificate and celebrated for their outstanding commitment and success. We are so proud of our Scholar Athletes; your hard work and Tiger Pride inspire us all! 🐯

Pawling High School hosted its annual Evening with the Arts last Tuesday, showcasing the talents of students in our fine, practical and performing arts programs! ✨ The evening featured inspiring choral and instrumental performances along with a student-curated art show highlighting a wide range of creative work. It was a wonderful celebration of the artistic achievements of our students during this school year.

Pawling High School’s Mock Trial team wrapped up its season in style on Friday, June 5 with an in-house courtroom showdown held on Pajama Day during Spirit Week (dubbed "The Pajama Trial")! 👩‍⚖️

Despite unexpected challenges that majorly limited competition opportunities from other schools this year, the team remained dedicated to their tasks by spending months preparing and developing strong evidence-based cases. A culmination of year-long planning for the NYS Bar Association Mock Trial season, this trial showcased their hard work and legal reasoning skills before an audience of peers from AP Humanities and Intro to Law classes. The group was grateful to host community member and PHS parent Claudine Weis, Esq., who presided over the trial.

Congratulations to our PHS Mock Trial students for their resilience during what turned out to be a successful season -- and thank you to advisors Ms. Horn and Ms. Stecher for their guidance and support throughout the year! 🐯

Pawling High School students had a blast at the prom this past Friday evening -- but not before the Pawling Middle/High School PTSA hosted its annual "Prom Pix at Lakeside" before the big night! 📸🎉

Each year, PTSA members and volunteers work tirelessly to pull together props, furniture and decor for this casual event where families and friends of students attending the prom can enjoy various photo ops at Pawling's Lakeside Park before heading to the venue. Attendees arrived at 3:30 to pose for photos -- and the weather cooperated with us all night to give our students the best possible experience!

🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️ A Proud Update from Pawling Middle School Modified Track & Field Head Coach Dr. Grippe:

"This past fall, I thought the Modified Girls Cross Country Team (aka: The Magnificent Seven) would be the pinnacle of my fourth year coaching at Pawling Middle School. I was mistaken.

As good as The Magnificent Seven were, our Modified Spring Track & Field Team -- 25 members strong -- surpassed every expectation. Over eight meets the team set an incredible 17 middle school records, from hurdles and relays to field events.

The boys, led by record holders Diego Torres, Jayden Brown, Kaden Attzs and Marchello Bosciano, shattered the 4x100 relay record by four seconds. On the girls side, Autumn Perry, Zuri Munuo, Adriana Benedetto, Juliet Lopez, Yara Touzoukou, Hannah and Hailey Taylor, Kelsey Fiske and Emma Jordan all played key roles in the team's record-setting season.

Yet it wasn't only about records; personal bests mattered just as much. Andrew Izurieta improved his 200-meter time by 10 seconds, while Aymara Bendezu, Otis Costello, Julian Bergdall, Allison Jordan, Bella Felix and many others achieved outstanding individual growth throughout the season.

These competitors and the rest of the team strove to improve at every meet, guided by coaches Ms. Sabatini, Mr. Columbo, Ms. Maurer and myself. We are amazed by their talent, determination, and commitment. We are amazed and proud at the talent and determination of the best team I’ve ever coached."

Way to go, Tigers! We see great things in your future! 🐯
