On May 21st the Georgetown County Republican Party hosted a clay pigeon shooting competition at Back Woods Quail Club. Thirty-seven shooters participated in the fundraiser.

Noteworthies at the event included: Lt. Governor Pamela Evette (candidate for governor), Carter Weaver (Georgetown County Sheriff) Lee Hewitt (State Representative District 108), Patrick Herrmmon (U.S. Senate candidate), Clint Elliott (Georgetown Country Council District 1), Bob Anderson (Georgetown County Council District 2), Bill Ringer (candidate for Georgetown County Council District 6), Jeremy Cannon (candidate for State Agriculture commissioner).

County party Chairwoman Karol Anderson presented Sheriff Weaver’s team with the best team award and Branden Baker with the best shooter award.

SCETV's Attorney General Debate

Before you cast your vote in the June 9 Republican Primary, make sure you hear directly from the candidates seeking to serve as South Carolina’s next Attorney General.

Wednesday, May 27 at 7:00 PM, SCETV will host a live Attorney General Debate featuring all three Republican candidates (listed alphabetically):

Stephen Goldfinch
David Pascoe
David Stumbo

This is a great opportunity to hear where the candidates stand on the issues facing our state and make an informed decision before heading to the polls!

The debate will be moderated by Gavin Jackson, host of This Week in South Carolina and the South Carolina Lede podcast, alongside SCETV Statehouse Reporter Maayan Schechter. Together, they will lead conversations on the issues most important to South Carolina voters.

While the event is not open to the public in person, Republicans across South Carolina can watch the debate live statewide through multiple platforms, including:

SCETV.org and PBS.org; by using a digital antenna; through cable, satellite and streaming television providers

SCETV’s page and News YouTube channel
