Osage Nation Congress (2018–present), former Assistant Principal Chief and Interim Principal Chief. I’m Scott BigHorse, an Osage leader, public servant and proud cultural carrier. In the Osage language, my name is Kiheka, which translates to Big Chief. I was inspired at a young age to get involved in county and tribal affairs, thanks to family members who showed me the importance of staying engage

d and serving your community. That early influence shaped the path I’ve taken ever since. Over the years, I’ve been honored to serve in leadership roles for the Osage Nation including as a member of the Osage Nation Congress, Assistant Principal Chief and Interim Principal Chief. I’ve also served in the Oklahoma House of Representatives and was appointed to the Native American Caucus of the Oklahoma Legislature, where I served as a spiritual counselor and as part of the caucus’s advisory team. Outside of public service, I’m also known as a traditional singer, and I believe our songs and traditions are something we carry forward with pride and responsibility.
