The New Jersey Forest Fire Service is responding to a wildfire in the area 8th Street in West Deptford Township, Gloucester County.

✈ A Forest Fire Service plane capable of dropping 600 gallons.

Avoid the area. Please follow directions from emergency personnel.

It’s that time of the year. Prep your home and property for possible severe weather. As we know all to well with our region we are susceptible to straight line winds and possible tornadoes. Make sure your home emergency kit is ready and your plan is reviewed. Remember always expect down wires to be energized. If you hear thunder go indoors. For tornadoes remember to go to the lowest level of your home or a closet or bathroom with no windows.

The Billingsport Fire Association mourns the passing of Fire Chief Archie Roemmich, our oldest and longest-serving member, with 65 years of dedicated service to our department and community.

Chief Roemmich’s commitment, leadership, and lifelong devotion to the fire service leave a legacy that will never be forgotten.

We extend our deepest condolences and prayers to the Roemmich family during this difficult time. Rest easy, Chief. Your watch has ended.

Congratulations to our Friend Chief Daniel Speigel, it is well deserved !!

The National Fallen Firefighters Foundation (NFFF) is proud to recognize retired City of Wildwood Fire Department Fire Chief Daniel Speigel of New Jersey as this year’s recipient of the Arthur J. Glatfelter Distinguished Service Award.
The award, named after Arthur J. Glatfelter, a champion of the fire service and founder of the Volunteer Fireman’s Insurance Services (VFIS), the first company of its kind to meet the insurance needs of volunteer firefighters, is among the most prestigious awards bestowed by the NFFF.
“Chief Daniel Speigel’s leadership, generosity, and steadfast commitment to fire service and the NFFF’s mission embody everything the Arthur J. Glatfelter Distinguished Service Award stands for,” said Board Chair Troy Markel. “His contributions, not only to the NFFF but also his community, are unmatched, and his continued dedication to those in the fire service and their families has made a lasting impact. We are honored to recognize him as this year’s award recipient.”
Chief Speigel will be presented the Glatfelter Award at an upcoming ceremony, with the details of the presentation to be announced.
