Are you a 4-H member interested in wildlife and fisheries, or anything nature related?

Oklahoma Envirothon is a great way to connect with hands-on environmental science, teamwork, and career exploration. Envirothon is a competition for students in grades 9-12 who work in teams to explore aquatic ecology, forestry, soils and land use, wildlife, and current environmental issues. The 2027 State Competition is April 30, 2027 in Stillwater, OK.

Oklahoma Envirothon is also offering Fall Field Days (free field trips in Edmond, Stillwater, and Tulsa) where students can visit topic-area learning stations, meet environmental professionals, and get ready for competition. Registration closes September 30th!

Football season is here, and food safety should be part of every tailgate plan. 🏈

Christi Evans, OSU Extension food safety specialist, shares a few reminders before heading to the game:
• Keep hot foods at 140 F or above and cold foods at 40 F or below.
• Use a food thermometer to ensure meats reach a safe internal temperature.
• Return food to the cooler within two hours, or within one hour when temperatures are above 90 F.
• Bring soap, clean water, paper towels and sanitizing wipes to create a handwashing station.

Garvin County 4H members and parents. Let's flood the Garvin County Fairgrounds with GREEN! This Sunday August 23 we are hosting our benefit to help some of our 4H family. Our Lindsay 4H leader Bobbi Ratzlaff was involved in a vehicle accident earlier this spring. She has pushed and worked to get to where she wanted to be the most..home with her son, Gauge. We want to see as many of our 4H members come and show their love for them. Wear anything with 4H on it.. We will also be having a ribbon cutting introducing the arena concession stand improvements. Come for the ceremony and then stay and support Bobbi and Gauge. Please be sure to share, share, share this.
