18-Year-Old Arrested Following Large Gang Gathering

On September 4, 2026, deputies with Patterson Police Services were notified of a large gang gathering in the 100 block of Washburn Street, which has experienced ongoing gang activity in recent months.

Upon arrival, deputies conducted a subject stop on 18-year-old Allen Doherty of Patterson, who was associated with the gathering. During the stop, deputies conducted a weapons pat-down and located an illegally manufactured G***k style handgun equipped with a 30-round magazine concealed in Doherty’s waistband.

Doherty was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on fi****ms charges.

Man Arrested in Connection with Alleged Lewd Acts at Playful Minds Day Care

Stanislaus County Sheriff’s deputies assigned to Patterson Police Services have arrested Jose Martinez-Guizar, 39, of Patterson, in connection with reported lewd and lascivious acts involving a minor at an in-home daycare.

Martinez-Guizar was booked on the following charges:

• Penal Code 288(a) – Lewd acts with a minor under 14
• Penal Code 269(a)(4) – Oral copulation
• Penal Code 273(a) – Child endangerment
• Penal Code 209(b)(1) – Movement of a child for a s*x act

The allegations involve Playful Minds Day Care, a 24-hour in-home facility in Patterson operated by a female believed to be the suspects wife. A child who attended the facility disclosed the allegations during a CAIRE interview, stating that the operator’s husband engaged in the acts.

Parents and guardians with children enrolled at Playful Minds Day Care are strongly encouraged to confirm the current supervision arrangements for their children.

Patterson’s National Night Out once again showcased the strong sense of community that makes Patterson such a special place. We were honored to join residents, city leaders, community organizations, and public safety partners for an evening dedicated to building connections and strengthening community partnerships.

Thank you to the City of Patterson, event organizers, volunteers, and community partners whose hard work and dedication made this event a tremendous success. National Night Out serves as a valuable reminder that public safety is a shared responsibility and that strong relationships between residents, local government, and law enforcement help create a safer and more connected community.

We appreciate everyone who came out to spend the evening with us and look forward to continuing to serve and work alongside the Patterson community throughout the year.

Creekside Middle School Teacher Arrested

On July 29, 2026, Kevin Olson, a 61-year-old white male from Patterson, was arrested and booked into the Stanislaus County Public Safety Center on charges of possession of child po*******hy.

Olson was arrested after Stanislaus County Sheriff’s deputies assigned to Patterson Police Services responded to a report that an adult male was believed to be in possession of child po*******hy. During the investigation, detectives identified the suspect as Olson and discovered that he was employed as a teacher at Creekside Middle School.

The school district has been notified and has taken appropriate action to help ensure the safety of its students. At this time, the investigation has not revealed any evidence that Olson s*xually abused or exploited any students at the school.
