Posey Township Volunteer Fire Department Inc provides fire protection services and non transport basic emergency medical services to the citizens of Posey Township We currently have
1 Indiana Advanced EMT
5 Indiana Registered EMT Basic
7 Indiana Registered Medical First Responders. All of our members have Indiana Firefighter Certifications.

Good Morning Posey Twp! We had such a successful event last night. We definitely found some things we need to work on(like obtaining more fryers😅), but we had so much support! You all were an awesome crowd! We cannot wait to host more events and see you all more often. Remember, we'll be set up again on the 4th of July, with hot dogs and hamburgers. 😁

We'd like to take a minute to thank everyone who made this happen. Thank you Rt. 262 Outdoors for handling the big shiny raffle items. We had $50 gift certificates donated from Morris Lawn and Landscape and Roeschlein Meat Processing. Jeans & Jewels, the new thrift store in Patriot, donated a beautiful basket. The Patriot General Store donated a basket also that had some great gifts in it. Elizabeth Thomas donated a Scentsy basket, so hit her up for all your smell goods. She also was a huge help in getting word out about our event. Thank you so much for that. Thank you Rock Steady Band for providing the music. You all sounded great.

Jill Asbury Hutcherson, you were such a big role in making this event what it was. We hope Bruce is looking down and is proud of what the department is doing.

I know we've had people asking what raffle items we will have. I'm going to do my best to get a whole list posted on here tomorrow around noon. As far as food, we will have fish, fish sandwiches, hushpuppies, hot dogs, mac.n cheese, green beans, cole slaw, baked beans, a variety of chips, and homemade desserts. For drinks, we'll have sweet tea, unsweeten tea and lemonade. We normally have a pot of coffee on too. If you want coffee and don't see it out, just ask one of our volunteers and we'll get you a cup. 😁 We can't wait to see everyone! 😁

One week until our big event!
We will have games, chalk(weather permitting), and face painting for the kids! We will be serving fish or fish sandwiches, hushpuppies, homemade sides and homemade desserts. We'll also have hot dogs for anyone who doesn't like fish! 😁 We will have silent auctions and raffles, come check out our prizes! We will accept donations for prizes too, until the event, just reach out to our volunteers to donate.
I really want to give a shout out to our volunteers, the Hutcherson family, and all donors so far for everything you've done to help prepare for this. We're so excited for this event.

Good morning Posey Twp!

We have 2 big fundraisers coming up very quickly. First is our Fish Fry on May 2nd, where we will have gun raffles and silent auctions. Not too far in the future, we also have the 4th of July activities, where we normally host something with the kids, most likely another 1st responders vs. kids waterballoon fight and we have some concessions and raffles. To make these events successful, we really rely on our community to show up and support us. You all are always awesome at showing your support.

BUT, with two big events, we really need donations to make these events successful. So, I'm attaching an Amazon wishlist full of items, big and small, that we could use for both fundraisers. If you feel it in your heart to donate, please make the purchase that suits you and then send our Assistant Chief, Tyler Louise a message so you can receive the appropriate recognition. We will also accept donations of items that come from local businesses and people, that do not come from Amazon, we just wanted to help make the process easier.

Once again, thank you for all the support you show us. We couldn't keep our doors open without it. If you have any questions, please reach out.

We need YOU! We're currently taking applications for:

•FIREFIGHTER/EMT
~No certs? That's fine, we'll put you through training. If you can make the time for classes, we will pay for them. If we can get enough volunteers, we'll host in house classes too.
~YOU don't have to be Superman or Wonder Woman to be a hero in our community.

•AUXILIARY
~Can you:
☆Cook/Bake
☆Handle money
☆Make signs, banners, social media posts
☆Come up with ideas for fundraisers, community events, etc
~IF SO, we NEED YOU.

•MAINTENANCE
~Do you have an hour or two of free time here and there? Are you maybe retired and tired of tinkering on your own home projects? Lots of our members have full time jobs and families that make it hard to find time to keep our equipment perfectly maintained. Doing little things like starting trucks, running saws, checking fluids, etc could help our dept immensely.

•ADMIN
~Are you a tech person?
~Can you take notes?
~Free time here and there to file documents?
~Can you manage money or find great deals on supplies?

•CADETS
~High school age students who:
☆Need great things to put on applications and resumes
☆Want to do great things and be a vital piece of their community
☆Want to learn important life skills
~Cadets can complete firefighter training, help with auxiliary events, and even get experience with our admin team, all of which can benefit them once their out of high school.
~Although we do not have school performance requirements, we will expect you to hold yourself to a high standard, since you will be representing our dept. Our members will become your second family and help guide you through the next few very important years of your life.

THERE'S A JOB FOR EVERYONE, on and off the firegrounds. Come to one of our business meetings, the 2nd Thursday of each month at 6:30pm to see what we're about and maybe fill out an application.

Tornado siren testing schedule for Vevay and Patriot:

Siren testing will begin on March 5th and will continue to be tested the first Thursday of each month at noon, unless there is inclement weather.

In the event of inclement weather then it will be postponed until the following Thursday.

Siren testing will continue each month through September.
