At Turning Point, recovery is about growth β one day, one step, and sometimes one plant at a time. π±
In many recovery circles, including Alcoholics Anonymous, there is a saying about learning to care for a plant before jumping into a relationship. The lesson is simple but powerful: recovery begins with responsibility, patience, consistency, and learning how to nurture something healthy before taking on the emotional demands of a relationship.
Our menβs residential unit has embraced this concept by caring for baby spider plants. Each client begins by rooting a small spider plant in water and nurturing it throughout their recovery journey at Turning Point. As the weeks go on, many of these plants grow so quickly they must be transplanted multiple times β a beautiful reflection of the personal growth happening alongside them.
Through this experience, clients learn routine, accountability, patience, and the rewards that come from consistent care and attention. Just like recovery, growth takes time, commitment, and a healthy environment.
We are proud of the progress our clients are making every day β both in their sobriety and in the living reminders growing beside them. ππΏ
