I want to send a special birthday shoutout to the “GOAT” William Bill McKoy—a true public servant, community champion, and proud Paterson leader. 🎉
For two decades, Bill represented Paterson’s Third Ward on the City Council, dedicating himself to the people and neighborhoods he served. His commitment to community empowerment also extends beyond City Hall through the Making a Difference with the Friends of Bill McKoy Foundation, which supports local families and children through initiatives such as its annual Toys for Kids holiday drive.
Bill’s journey—from being raised in Trench Town to becoming a respected civic leader in Paterson—reflects perseverance, faith, service, and a deep belief in giving people a fair opportunity to succeed. He also helped establish Paterson’s Jamaica Day celebration, an event that honors Jamaican heritage, culture, history, and the contributions of the city’s West Indian community.
