Today's heat advisory serves as an important reminder: never leave a child unattended in a vehicle, even for a few minutes.

Temperatures inside a parked car can rise rapidly, creating life-threatening conditions in a matter of minutes. Before you lock your vehicle, take a moment to check the back seat. One extra look could save a life.

If you see a child alone in a vehicle and believe they may be in danger, call 911 immediately.

Outstanding work by Officers Joaquin, Villalona, Ramos, and Lopez-Lopez. Through quick action, strong communication, and teamwork, these officers helped bring a home invasion investigation to a swift conclusion, leading to the arrest of a suspect less than an hour after the incident was reported. Their dedication and commitment to protecting our community reflect the professionalism and urgency our residents deserve when they call for help.

In May, Officer Dubenezic responded to a report of a disorderly person. Upon making contact with the individual, he recognized him as a suspect wanted in connection with an assault on members of the Paterson Fire Department, as well as a domestic violence incident.

Drawing on investigative work completed earlier that day by Officers Dakake and Pagan, Officer Dubenezic quickly and positively identified the suspect and placed him under arrest. His vigilance, initiative, and swift action resulted in the apprehension of an individual wanted for multiple offenses.

In recognition of his outstanding work, Officer Dubenezic has been named the Paterson Police Department’s May 2026 Officer of the Month.
