+ This week I had the great honor and opportunity to accompany TSgt Ledesma of the Freeport Recruiting office to Long Beach High for Career day. What made this a very Special visit for me, is Long Beach is my hometown. I have wonderful memories of growing up here, going to school, and meeting and marrying my wife; who’s also from Long Beach!

A big congratulations to our new airmen Carter Gelling
Carter has graduated from BMT, has completed training to be an Aircraft Armament Systems specialist ++

+ When a mission involves dropping explosive devices, everything needs to be in perfect working order. Responsible for maintaining launch and release devices on aircraft, Aircraft Armament Systems specialists ensure that explosive devices can be accurately delivered from our planes. From testing and evaluating new weapons systems to loading ordnance, these professionals make sure that when a pilot pulls the trigger, the devices successfully launch away from the aircraft toward the target.

Cosgriff has graduated from BMT and is training to be in HVAC++

+ Climate control plays a large role in the comfort and efficiency of our Airmen as well as our electronic equipment. Responsible for maintaining the mechanical systems that keep our surroundings temperature-controlled, Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning and Refrigeration (HVAC/R) specialists ensure that every space at their respective base is functioning correctly. These experts install, maintain and repair the different HVAC/R systems necessary for us to complete our operations in a variety of climates all over the world.

++ 2A534 REFUEL/BOMBER AIRCRAFT MAINTAINANCE++

+Bonus 6 years = 6k - 4 years = 3k!!+

+ Keeping our fleet refueled and our bombers ready to fly are monumental tasks. It’s the job of the Refuel/Bomber Aircraft Maintenance specialists to inspect, troubleshoot and repair aircraft structures, engines and hydraulic systems. These professionals do everything from removing and installing engine components to identifying corrosion for prevention and repair to ensure that every time aircraft are in use they are safe and operating at full capacity.

A big congratulations to our new trainee Derek Gutierrez.
Gutierrez has shipped off to BMT and will be entering as an Airborne cryptologic language analyst! ++

+ When we receive or intercept data in the air, it’s critical for us to understand it in order to act accordingly. Responsible for translating intelligence communications, Airborne Cryptologic Language Analysts utilize fluent foreign language skills to analyze messages obtained during flight. Providing threat warnings and actionable intelligence that can assist in mission planning, these highly skilled specialists are critical to keeping our missions successful and our Airmen safe.

+ As a superior military force, we work with some of the most advanced weapons in the world. It’s the great responsibility of Munitions Systems specialists to assemble and process nonnuclear munitions. Working with a high level of attention to detail and extreme care, these experts handle, store, transport, and arm and disarm weapons systems to ensure the safety of our Airmen and the success of our mission.
