Village of Hebron Announces Retirement of Village Administrator Jung-Han Chen

HEBRON, OHIO – June 2, 2026 – The Village of Hebron announces the retirement of Village Administrator Jung-Han Chen, effective July 31, 2026.

At its recent regular meeting, the Hebron Village Council formally accepted Mr. Chen's resignation and expressed its appreciation for his dedicated service to the Village. Council members recognized his leadership and contributions to municipal operations during his tenure as Village Administrator.

"Jung-Han provided the steady leadership our administration needed as I took office as a new mayor. He is an exceptionally kind person, and our entire staff is truly sad to see him go. As he transitions into a well- earned retirement, we thank him for his service to the Village of Hebron and wish him the very best in his next chapter.” said Mayor Dr. Valerie Mockus.

To ensure a smooth transition, Village Council unanimously voted to authorize Economic and Community Development Director Brittany Misner to exercise the full powers and duties of the Village Administrator effective immediately through July 31, 2026. This action will provide continuity in the administration of Village operations while the Village prepares for the next phase of leadership.

"I appreciate the confidence that Council has placed in me during this transition period," said Misner. "I look forward to continuing to work alongside our staff, elected officials, residents, and business community to ensure that Village services and ongoing initiatives continue without interruption."

The Village of Hebron remains committed to providing exceptional public service and maintaining progress on community priorities throughout the transition.

⚡🚲 Electric Bikes Are Growing in Popularity—Know the Rules Before You Ride! 🚲⚡

Did you know:
● E-bikes cannot be ridden on sidewalks while the motors are engaged.
● Only certain types of e-bikes can be ridden on bike and multi-use trails like the Licking Park District Ohio Canal Greenway Trail.

Ohio law treats electric bicycles much like traditional bicycles, meaning riders are expected to obey traffic signals, ride in the same direction as traffic, and follow the rules of the road. Additional regulations regarding e-bike operation can be found in Ohio Revised Code §4511.522.

As e-bikes become more common among young riders, we encourage parents to take time to understand the differences between the three classes of electric bicycles. Some e-bikes are capable of assisted speeds up to 28 MPH, making it important that riders understand how to operate them safely and responsibly.

👨‍👩‍👧‍👦Parents: Before purchasing or allowing your child to ride an e-bike, familiarize yourself with its capabilities, applicable laws, and the safety equipment needed to help keep them safe.

Notice Fire Hydrant Flushing

Affected Area: Enterprise Dr. O'Neill Dr. & Surrounding Neighborhoods

Crews will conduct a fire flow test. Flushing is scheduled for the Enterprise Dr. and O'Neill Dr. are on Tuesday, June 2, 2026 from 9:30-11:00 am. You may experience temporary low pressure or discolored water.

What to Expect:
· Temporary drops in water pressure
· Cloudy or rust-colored water

Recommendations During Flushing
· Do not do laundry: Avoid washing clothes to prevent rust staining.
· Clear your lines: If you experience discolored water, run your cold water tap for a few minutes until it flows clear.
· Minimize hot water use: Avoid using hot water to prevent drawing sediment into your hot water heater.
