As fans travel to MetLife Stadium and gather throughout our community to enjoy FIFA World Cup matches, the City of Passaic reminds everyone that public safety is everyone's responsibility.

Please remember to:

✅ Stay alert and aware of your surroundings
✅ Use designated crosswalks and obey traffic signals
✅ Secure personal belongings
✅ Allow extra travel time due to increased traffic
✅ Follow posted detours, do not drive on closed roadways, and follow the directions of officers conducting traffic control
✅ Keep children close in crowded areas
✅ Report suspicious activity immediately

Special thanks to Mayor Hector C. Lora, the Passaic City Council, and all public safety personnel for their continued support of public safety initiatives and community engagement efforts throughout the FIFA World Cup festivities.

Today, members of the City of Passaic Police Department proudly participated in the 43rd Annual New Jersey Torch Run for Special Olympics. Our officers ran an inspiring leg of the event, escorting the “Flame of Hope” through the City of Passaic and continuing all the way to the City of Newark. We are honored to support the incredible athletes of Special Olympics and help carry the torch that symbolizes courage, determination, and inclusion! 👮🏼👮🏻‍♂️🚓🏃🏽‍♀️🏃🏽‍♂️

Today, Mayor Hector C. Lora, Deputy Mayor of Veteran Affairs Minnie Austin, and the Passaic City Council proudly hosted the Annual City of Passaic Memorial Day Parade and Ceremony.

Despite the weather, our community came together to honor and remember those who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation and the freedoms we cherish.

We also recognize our very own Detective Angel Castrillon, who was honored as this year’s Memorial Day Parade Grand Marshal. Detective Castrillon was presented with a City proclamation by Mayor Lora in recognition of his dedication to public service and his honorable service as a military veteran.

Today, and every day, we remember our fallen, honor our veterans, and remain grateful for the sacrifices made to protect our dear country. 🇺🇸👮🏽‍♂️👮‍♀️

Yesterday, Mayor Hector C. Lora and the Passaic City Council hosted Passaic County Prosecutor Camelia M. Valdes, the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office, St. Mary’s General Hospital, and the Passaic Police Department for an important community conversation announcing the ARRIVE Together Program in the City of Passaic!

The ARRIVE Together Program brings law enforcement and mental health professionals together to respond to behavioral health crises with care, compassion, and the goal of connecting individuals to the help and resources they need.

We are proud to share that tonight’s event was a success, with residents coming out to learn more, ask questions, and support this important initiative.

Thank you to everyone who attended and to all of our partners working together to strengthen public safety and mental health support in our community.

Ayer, el Alcalde Hector C. Lora y el Concejo Municipal de Passaic recibieron a la Fiscal del Condado de Passaic, Camelia M.
