Amazing turnout for yesterday's ribbon cutting. The new aquatic center looks incredible! So excited to bring the kids here regularly. What they’ve built so far is already miles better than before, and I can’t wait to see the next phases of growth. Big thanks to everyone who made today possible! 💦✨ The Pasco Aquatic Center opens June 27 https://www.pasco-wa.gov/1724/Pasco-Aquatic-Center

Tomorrow the Council will vote on the sales tax increase of .1%. Let’s hear from you. Are you ok with a sales tax increase of 10 cents for every $100 you spend in Pasco? This tax will generate an estimated 2.3 million dollars annually that will be used for road repairs and transportation infrastructure in our growing city.

Why is this being considered?
- Currently we have around 1 million per year available for road preservation however estimation needs are closer to 8 million.
- Our roads have grown significantly in our city. 20% the last 10 years, and almost 45% since 2010.

What is our sales tax paying for now?
Our current sales tax of 8.9% is broken down this way:
- 6.5% Washington State gets (leaving only 2.4% left for county and city.)
- .6% allocated to Ben Franklin Transit District
- .2% dedicated to Pasco Public Facilities District
- .1% Franklin County’s Behavioral Health efforts
- 1.5% divided between Pasco and Franklin County for public safety.

What should we do? Yes to sales tax increase or no?
