Pasco City Council Agenda available here: bit.ly/PascoCouncil061526
Visit www.pascoGO4.com to learn more about Grand Old 4th of July Celebration plans for 2026!

Welcome to Pasco City Council In Focus!
I’m Communications Coordinator Alyssa Warner, and this is a look at what’s coming up on the June 15th Regular Meeting Agenda for the Pasco City Council.

Here’s a word you don’t hear every day: “Semiquincentennial.”
That’s a one-word way to say: on July 4th, we’ll celebrate 250 years since the Declaration of Independence was signed.
In honor of that, Mayor Grimm will proclaim July 2026 as America 250 Month.
We’re going to have a huge Grand Old Fourth of July celebration in Pasco this year, so be sure to check out pascoGO4.com for all the details.

City Council will also review and act on a budget adjustment to pay for the speed cushions that Council approved back in April, to slow down drivers on Court Street.
This proposal would take $82,000 from the general fund and move it to the street fund to help cover the cost of the traffic-calming devices.

We’ll also hear a proposal to buy the Pasco Sporting Complex from Franklin County.
The City built the Sporting Complex facilities – but the County owns the land underneath them.
Now, the City Council will be asked to consider a proposal that would authorize the City Manager to try to buy out the County.
That proposal could include paying $13 million - and giving Volunteer Park to the County to sweeten the deal.

June 15th will be a regular City Council meeting, so if you have anything you would like to bring to the Council, you will have a chance to speak during public comment.
You can also watch the meeting live as it happens on our Facebook and YouTube pages.

Tonight is the night! We're cutting the ribbon at the Pasco Aquatic Center from 4-8 pm. Immediately following the ribbon cutting, the facility will open for tours (no swimming just yet!) and for reservations and sales of parties, cabana rentals and open swim sessions.

To celebrate this momentous occasion, we're giving away Juniper the Otter, the PAC's mascot, to some lucky recipients! Want to win one? You have two options:

-Follow the City of Pasco and the Pasco Aquatic Center, and then share and comment on this post. Bonus points for commenting on what PAC feature you are most excited to see!
-Purchase a summer pass or annual pass between this evening at midnight on Sunday (6/14).

Dreamers, entrepreneurs, investors, and business owners: are you looking for a new investment opportunity in Pasco?

Do you want to be part of a vibrant, diverse downtown scene?

The City of Pasco is seeking creative proposals to purchase and activate several City-owned properties in downtown Pasco, including:

• A highly visible corner building next door to the Pasco Farmers Market
• A vacant lot just waiting for new development
• Move-in-ready space on Lewis Street

We're looking for ideas that bring energy, activity, and investment to downtown while supporting a vibrant, walkable environment where people want to gather, shop, dine, and connect.

Interested? Review the available properties and submit a proposal before July 17, 2026.

The results are in! Pasco residents have weighed in on their preferred housing types, street configurations, and park designs as part of the City's Comprehensive Plan Update.

So what now? How do we translate this feedback into a vision statement that will guide the next 20 years of the City's growth?

This month, we're asking you to share your thoughts on 4 Big Ideas for the Future of Pasco. Do these ideas describe the type of community you want to live in? Are there other ways that you imagine the City growing and changing?
