Building Friendships, Solving Problems, Making a Difference

Fellowship - Every Wednesday, members of our rotary club meet at the Grand Magnolia in Pascagoula to have lunch and listen to speakers. The weekly gatherings give our members and guests the opportunity to network and build friendships with other people in the community who share the same passion for service. Since Rotary is an international organization, members are welcome to attend any meeting anywhere in the world; there are over 33,000 clubs. Education - Each meeting, we arrange speakers to talk about key issues in our community and around the world like poverty, illiteracy, clean water, environmental improvement, hunger, and disease. This continued education gives us the opportunity to not only stay abreast of current problems. It also gives our club the chance to brainstorm on potential solutions. Service Above Self - The Pascagoula Rotary Club is part of a worldwide network of over 1.2 million Rotarians who together make a difference in the lives of people all over the globe.

We were also able to honor four local students from Pascagoula High School & Resurrection Catholic School as our September Students of the month! It’s always a great time to be a Rotarian!

⛳️Rain or shine, Pascagoula Rotarians show up & today we proved that even a little “water hazard” from above, can’t stop us! 🌧️

Huge thank you to everyone who braved the elements for our annual Melton Harris Memorial Golf tournament. Thanks to our amazing sponsors, players, and volunteers, we raised funds to provide college scholarships for local high school seniors.

We work hard, we love serving our community & clearly we aren’t afraid of a little mud on our cleats. 💙

Rotary Zone 30 & 31 , 2026 Zone Institute was held in New Orleans on August 25 - 27. It was hosted by the Rotary Club of Pascagoula home district, Rotary District 6840.

The Zone Institute was a Great Success followed by an Awesome Food Fest on Saturday evening, August 27th.

The Food Fest provided many selections of seafood. Pascagoula Rotary Club provided a unique addition, Boston Butt Pulled Pork.

Thank you Kevin Miller for arranging the smoking of the butts.

Thank you Tays Barbeque for smoking the butts at no cost to the Club.

Thank you Rotary Club of Pascagoula Food Fest Team for working and making the event a great success. (Some great tasting pulled pork served!)

Rotary Club of Pascagoula - Rotary District 6840 Governor Emily Leitzinger Official Visit

Governor Leitzinger came ready to engage in a full set of activities for the Club.

Starting with the Club Board Meeting, Emily assisted in the induction of two new rotarians, recognition of Paul Harris Fellows, and recognition of a long term member with 50+ years of service and perfect attendance.

For her presentation to the Club, Emily shared on Keeping the Rhythm and Creating Lasting Impact - The Beat Goes On.

Emily spoke on leadership and future leaders. A data point shared was that 85% of the President Elect (PE) group at recent PELS (President Elect Learning Seminar) had 5-years or less rotary experience.
Of the remaining 15%, many were past presidents.

Key message was we need to continue
grow the membership base to build on the potential leadership line.

One Interactive session by Emily asked four key questions in alignment with the Best Goes On.

1) What is your “drum beat”?
2) What did they teach you?
3) What shaped your rhythm?
4) How will you Create Lasting Impact to honor them?

Governor Leitzinger spoke on the upcoming Zone 30/31 Institute / Food Fest in New Orleans on August 27th - 30th and District Wide Sleep In Heavenly Peace Bed Build Project on September 19th (with Project training in September 12th).
