Building Friendships, Solving Problems, Making a Difference

Fellowship - Every Wednesday, members of our rotary club meet at the Grand Magnolia in Pascagoula to have lunch and listen to speakers. The weekly gatherings give our m

embers and guests the opportunity to network and build friendships with other people in the community who share the same passion for service. Since Rotary is an international organization, members are welcome to attend any meeting anywhere in the world; there are over 33,000 clubs. Education - Each meeting, we arrange speakers to talk about key issues in our community and around the world like poverty, illiteracy, clean water, environmental improvement, hunger, and disease. This continued education gives us the opportunity to not only stay abreast of current problems. It also gives our club the chance to brainstorm on potential solutions. Service Above Self - The Pascagoula Rotary Club is part of a worldwide network of over 1.2 million Rotarians who together make a difference in the lives of people all over the globe.

Rotary Club of Pascagoula Guest Speaker: Kendall Smith, Owner and Captain of Eco-Tours of South Mississippi

May 6, 2026

Kendall Smith is a lifelong resident of Jackson County. Her deep connection to the region’s waterways shapes her work as owner and captain of Eco-Tours of South Mississippi. Growing up along the Pascagoula River, she developed an early appreciation for its marshes, bayous, and diverse wildlife—an appreciation that now defines her approach to ecotourism.

Kendall's tours reflect an intimate, lived knowledge of the river, allowing her to guide visitors through lesser-known channels and adapt each experience based on tides, seasons, and wildlife activity. Her perspective is rooted not just in professional expertise, but in years of personal familiarity with the rhythms and character of the river system.

Measuring approximately 80 miles in length, the Pascagoula River is recognized as the largest free-flowing river system in the contiguous United States. It provides the backdrop for Kendall Smith work and underscores its importance.

Through her tours, Kendall shares both the natural beauty and ecological significance of the area, helping visitors understand its value.
