Applications for the 2026-2027 Mayor's Youth Council are OPEN!

The City of Pascagoula is looking for well-rounded students who are passionate about being involved in the City. Youth Council members will engage with industry professionals to learn the many opportunities that awaits them in Pascagoula when making their future plans. Our hope is to provide members with a behind-the-scenes look at their City. Additionally, members will be able to aid in service initiatives to help community organizations, engage with city leadership and participate in various events.

The Pascagoula Mayor's Youth Council will be eligible for new members that are 11th grade students only. Additionally, 12th graders that have previously served on the council are eligible to reapply to serve again. Previous involvement does not guarantee you a spot on this year's council.

Applicant MUST:

- Be a Pascagoula resident

- Attend a school in Pascagoula

- Participate in all scheduled meetings. The Youth Council meets once a month August through April.

- Attend other meetings or events as opportunities arise

- Complete service hours as opportunities arise

Please complete the following application by filling out every space with as much detail as possible. Minimal effort to responses will be counted against you. NO responses utilizing ChatGPT will be counted - we can tell!

Before applying for the Pascagoula Mayor's Youth Council, please weigh your current responsibilities to school, work, academics, faith, community, etc. against the time required to actively participate on the Pascagoula Mayor's Youth Council. The Pascagoula Mayor's Youth Council will meet monthly. Each meeting will be either a Program Day, where you will be excused from school and tour various businesses and organizations, a service initiative or a guest speaker.

Attendance and participation will be evaluated periodically throughout the year and lack of attendance and participation can result in consequences or possible termination from the program.

*Application deadline: June 15, 2026 at 5:00 p.m.

You will be notified of acceptance or denial by end of July.

Last night, we were proud to recognize the 2025-2026 Mayor’s Youth Council members for their hard work and commitment. This group of students has spent the year learning more about their city, meeting with local leaders and exploring different careers, all while showing up as leaders in their schools and community. Each of them received a certificate recognizing their completion of the program.

We’re excited to see what’s next for each of you, and we hope this experience has helped you see just how much potential you have and how much your community believes in you! Congratulations! 🎉
