🚒District 5 Responds to Belleville Moving 1,000,000 Gallons of Water with the Morris County Tanker Task Force 5-3-2026🚒

🔥In the evening of Sunday May 3, 2026, the Parsippany District 5 Fire Department was requested to stage with the Morris County Tanker Task Force for a deployment into Belleville for the multi alarm fire. Crews assembled at Station 1 on Old Bloomfield Ave before department to Bellville.

🧯Once in Belleville, members of Engine 56 operated at the dump site, managing up to 4 pools that were then pumped to Newark Engine 9. Newark Engine 9 at the height was then feeding 3 aerials in an effort to try and contain the blaze. Due to the volume of water needed to fight the fire, additional tankers were called in from Ralson, Budd Lake, (Passic County) West Milford, Wanaque, Ringwood, (Middlesex / Monmouth Counties) Middlesex County Academy, Plainsboro (tanker and engine), Halmetta, Jamesburg, Morganville, Glendale, and (Somerset County) Griggstown.

💧In total, crews moved approximately 1,000,000 gallons of water to assist in the fire suppression efforts through the night. The crews of Engine 56 operated as part of the incident for over 14 hours, with 11 hours being on scene. Crews started to break down at 5:00am on Monday May 4, 2026, and cleared the scene just after 6:00am returning to the firehouse and spending another 2 hours repacking hose on Engine 56 for it to return to service.
