Today we recognize Juneteenth, the day slavery finally ended in the United States.

It's a reminder that freedom is worth fighting for, that progress doesn't happen by accident, and that every American deserves the opportunity to succeed.

It is a day to honor the resilience, perseverance, and contributions of Black Americans whose courage helped shape our country and expand the promise of freedom for future generations.

As we reflect on our history, let us also renew our commitment to building communities where opportunity, dignity, and respect are available to all.
