SAFE BOATING TIPS

1. 🦺 WEAR A LIFE JACKET
Every person. Every trip.

Know before you go—and keep an eye on changing conditions.
3. 🍺 NEVER BOAT IMPAIRED
Stay sober, alert, and in control.
4. 📱 HAVE A WAY TO CALL FOR HELP
Carry a charged phone or marine radio and keep it accessible.
5. 🚨 HAVE YOUR SAFETY GEAR
Carry required safety equipment, including a throwable flotation device, signaling device, and fire extinguisher.

Enjoy the water. Respect the water. Come home safe. 🚤🦺

If your holiday plans include a boat, make sure safety is on board too!

Before you head out:

🦺 Wear your life jacket — every trip, every time.
📻 Check your equipment — radio, safety gear, fuel, and navigation equipment.
🌦️ Watch the weather — Florida conditions can change quickly.
🚫 Boat sober — impaired boating puts everyone at risk.
🧭 Know your limits — have a plan, tell someone where you're going, and be prepared for the unexpected.

Most importantly, look out for your passengers and the other people sharing the water.

Enjoy the long weekend, make some memories, and make it home safely. ❤️🇺🇸

Got to meet this beautiful girl, Sadie, last night! Sadie is a great dog, but she likes to chase things and is therefore unreliable when it comes to general commands. To help Sadie, we have started teaching her scent games!

Did you know dogs explore the world first with their nose?

Do you have a dog like Sadie? Do they chase cars, dogs, or other animals, or is your dog reactive to various things in their environment?

🚨 TRAIN LIKE IT’S REAL. BE READY WHEN IT IS. 🚨

Last night, members of Manatee County Search and Rescue took part in a full-scale mock search designed to put our skills, teamwork, and response capabilities to the test.

The scenario involved two missing persons and required our K9, ground search, and drone teams to work together in real-world conditions to locate the subjects. From search planning and team deployment to communications, navigation, K9 operations, and aerial reconnaissance, the exercise gave our members the opportunity to practice the same skills and coordination required during an actual missing-person response.

Training like this is critical to our mission. When someone is missing, there is no time to figure things out on the fly. Regular, realistic training allows us to identify areas for improvement, strengthen coordination between our specialized teams, and keep our skills sharp and up to date.

For our volunteers, the hours spent training are an investment in being ready when our community needs us most.

If you’re in the Bob Gardner Park / White Eagle Blvd area of Bradenton this evening, you may notice increased activity from Manatee County Search & Rescue. 🚑🚨

Our team will be conducting a scheduled training exercise, so you may see SAR personnel, vehicles, and equipment operating in and around the park.

👉 No need to be alarmed — this is only a training exercise!

These exercises help our team stay sharp, test equipment, and prepare for the real-world emergencies where every second counts.

MCSAR is excited to announce our newest fundraiser: Dog Training presented by our very own K9 trainers!

Come out, have some fun with your dog, and learn something new together. We’re offering a flexible schedule and a variety of training options, so don’t be shy about telling us what you’re interested in!

🐕 Want to work on leash skills and make some new friends? Pack Walks are coming soon!

👃 Does your dog love to sniff everything? Learn how to turn that amazing nose into a fun game for both you and your dog with our scent classes!
