This morning, the Parowan Police Department extends its heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of the two officers from the Tremonton-Garland Police Department who were tragically killed while responding to a call for service.

Their courage, sacrifice, and service will never be forgotten.

Our thoughts and prayers also go out to the Box Elder County Sheriffโ€™s Deputy and their K9 partner who were injured in the incident. Weโ€™re hoping for their full and speedy recovery.

๐ŸŽ“๐ŸŒŸ D.A.R.E. Graduation Day with Our Amazing 6th Graders! ๐ŸŒŸ๐ŸŽ“

Today, we had the privilege of watching our incredible 6th graders complete their D.A.R.E. program! Over the past few weeks, these bright young minds have learned valuable lessons about making healthy choices, resisting peer pressure, and standing strong against drugs and alcohol.

It's inspiring to see these kids grow in confidence and knowledge as they take a stand for their future!

A huge thank you to our dedicated D.A.R.E. officer, SRO Townsend who made this experience possible. ๐Ÿ™Œ And to all the parents and guardians supporting these students every step of the way โ€“ thank you!

Here's to a future full of healthy choices and positive actions!

I borrowed most of this and I believe itโ€™s well stated and fitting at the close of National Police Week.

In 1962, the United States Congress enacted a joint resolution signed by President John F. Kennedy declaring May 15th as National Peace Officer's Memorial Day to honor law enforcement officers killed or disabled in the line of duty. This resolution also created National Police Week as an annual tribute to Law Enforcement's service and sacrifice.

This week, as we recognize National Police Week and National Peace Officer's Memorial Day. Iโ€™d like to pay tribute to those, who have been taken from us far too early. These men and women, who have perished in the line of duty, are heroes and examples of selfless service and sacrificing for a cause greater than themselves.

This profession changes the men and women who serve within it. It is not easy and it takes it's toll. The things they see and experience, canโ€™t be explained to, or understood by anyone not in this โ€œarenaโ€. Each of them have a sincere desire to serve and help their fellow neighbors and citizens. I am extremely proud of the men and women of the Parowan City Police Department and all the law enforcement officers, deputies, troopers, conservation officers, probation officers and corrections officers of Iron County who so proudly serve us each day. They are heroes to me and I so much appreciate their commitment to our community's safety and security.

To all the citizens of Iron County, thank you, for your support of our law enforcement as they work daily to protect you and your families!

Thanks to all my LEO brothers and sisters!
Stay safe and always do a press check before you go into the arena! Addy

SCAM ALERT!!
PPD has been getting reports of another common telephone scam. The caller says they are a Federal agency and are alerting the subject about an outstanding warrant for some reason (failure to appear for jury duty, unpaid ticket, etc.). The caller will then instruct the subject to withdraw money and take it to a bitcoin kiosk, or the caller may have them purchase gift cards. They will try to keep the subject on the phone, so the subject can't ask a friend, neighbor or Law Enforcement Officer about it. Please help pass the word to family and friends. Law Enforcement will NEVER ask for payment for any type of warrant this way. If there is ever a question, local Law Enforcement can and will answer your questions and assist in solving any problems.
