📣 Starting tomorrow (Wednesday, May 13th), you may purchase pool passes at City Hall. Swimming lesson sign up for Parkersburg residents will also start tomorrow at City Hall. Swimming lesson sign up for families who do not live in Parkersburg will begin on Wednesday, May 20th. ☀️🏊

‼️ A few important notes:

- Pool passes can only be purchased at City Hall. We accept cash, check, and card for payment. Pool hours and pool pass pricing can be found on our website at www.parkersburgia.com. If you are unable to come to City Hall during business hours, please call 319-346-2262 to discuss an alternate arrangement.

- There will only be two sessions of public swimming lessons this summer due to the limited number of WSI certified instructors. The first session will be July 6th - 10th, and the second session will be August 3rd -7th. We will be limiting each level to 8 participants for each session. Unlike previous years, lessons must be paid for at the time of registration. Unfortunately, in the past, we have had to turn people away due to classes being full and then registered participants did not show up.

- We will have a sign up sheet at City Hall for those who are interested in private lessons. Filling out this form does not guarantee private lessons due to the very limited number of WSI certified instructors as well as instructor availability. WSI certified instructors will do their best to reach out to you to accommodate private lessons within their schedule.

Session #3 of public swimming lessons begins Monday! Parents/guardians of session #3 kids, please read the information below!
Level 1 Swimmers – If your child can’t touch the bottom in the shallow end or is not comfortable being in the water without help, they’ll need to wait until next year to join lessons. Safety first!
Lifejackets for Levels 1 & 2 – If you have a lifejacket, please bring it! We have lots of swimmers this year and want to make sure we have enough to go around, especially for deeper water activities.
Diving Board Reminder – It’s fun to watch your child go off the diving board, but it’s not required to advance to the next level. If they’re not ready or confident, instructors and lifeguards will not be sending them off the board. We'll encourage it when we can, but our primary focus will be on developing their confidence in swim skills.
Where to Sit – For safety, parents and guardians must sit in the chairs around the fence (inside or outside the pool area). Please don’t sit near the pool’s edge.
We have a few spots available for kiddos in levels 2-6. Message us privately if interested!

🚫 IMPORTANT REMINDER
For the safety of all swimmers, absolutely NO goggles with glass or tempered glass lenses are allowed.
👀 Parents – Please double-check your children’s goggles!
Many swim goggles may look like plastic but actually contain tempered glass. If you’re unsure, please check the packaging or brand specifications, or ask a staff member for help.
✅ Only plastic lenses are permitted.
Let’s work together to keep everyone safe and to keep the pool open. If glass is ever suspected to be in the pool, we will be forced to drain the entire pool.

We are changing the time slightly due to the Parkersburg Fun Days Parade taking place at 10:30am!
