** WV JR STATES DEADLINE **

Hey guys, just wanted to pass on a few things regarding this years JR States, Held at PHS. Our registration deadline is tonight 3/2 @ midnight.

No late entries will be accepted.

To answer a few questions I’ve been asked.

We Will allow .4 over base weight for the weight class. So base + (.4) on the scale.

Registration is open to any Wrestler who lives in WV. There is no needed qualifier.

Girls who wrestled in the girls only JR States this year May also wrestle. However there is not a separate girls division.

Weekend Passes will be sold at weigh ins. All weigh ins will be held on Friday night.

Wrestling updates:

The 2022 Wood County Middle School Wrestling League Championships are set to take place tomorrow, Tues. Feb. 8 & Wed. Feb. 9 at Parkersburg High School Field House. Matches both nights start at 6 PM.

*Tickets go on sale and Doors open at 5 PM. All Spectators, Coaches & Wrestlers enter at the Main Field House Doors #1.

The JV Tourney is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 10 @ Blennerhassett Middle School (the day after the County/League Championship). Start time is still 5:30 PM with scratch Meeting at 5:00 PM.

Wrestling practice will begin on Monday November 8th directly after school. Student athletes must have a WVSSAC Sports physical to participate. Student-Athletic-Physical-Form-2021 (1).pdf 6th Grade students are automatically academically eligible for the entire first semester. At the end of the first semester they must have at least a 2.0 GPA (Average over the first two 9 weeks) to continue to play. 7th and 8th grade students must have a current 2.0 GPA or above to participate.
