This is not only a fantastic way to help our local first responders get better for when they show up to help you and your loved ones, but also a wonderful opportunity for someone who is looking into serving with a volunteer service and wants some insight in what that could look like.

We want to take the time to remember the sacrifice of all of those who have fought and sacrificed to keep us safe and uphold our freedoms this memorial day.

As we close out National EMS week we can't thank all of our EMS services enough, for all the support they provide our communities. We are lucky to have volunteers who not only serve the towns they represent but our neighbors.

Volunteering for your local EMS service is an incredible way to get involved, if you have any questions on how you can be apart of your town please reach out to us or them directly !

Thank you again to all of those serving our communities in the EMS world, directly impacting the everyday life of each and everyone of us.

It is a pleasure serving alongside you.

We hate having to make posts like this as often as we do.

Driving on the roads in our state is a privilege, and most people out there do the right thing every day. But every now and then, we run into situations that remind us why traffic laws matter so much.

This evening, a motorcycle was spotted here in Turner County going 106 mph in a 65 mph.

That kind of speed is dangerous on its own—but it didn’t stop there. The rider also used the turning lane at an intersection to pass another vehicle.

That’s the kind of decision that can turn deadly in a split second.

We’re asking everyone to please slow down and think. It’s not just about getting where you’re going—it’s about making sure everyone gets there safely.

If you choose to drive or ride in a manner that endangers others, you are also choosing to accept the consequences.

In the Month of May we took time to Honor all of those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice. Deputies took the time to attend the memorial service in Pierre, while others honored them by participating in the Remember the Fallen 5K.

We can't express our condolences enough to all the familys of those we have lost and our appreciation for the men and women who go out and continue to serve everyday to protect our freedoms.

It is with all of that said we know appreciation and admiration starts at home. One initiative we have been working on is making sure this Office recognizes our outstanding law enforcement Deputies as well as Police Officers in Turner County. Going forward we will hold an annual award ceremony to honor those past and present, to praise the hard work and selfless sacrifice that goes into serving our communities.

While we will hold this annual event in December, this year the inaugural winner and name sake of our Deputy of the Year Award is presented to Chad Mechels and his Family.

Each year the recipient will truly know that they have served selflessly and that our communities are better for it.

Congratulations to all of our 2026 Graduates 🎉🎉

We will see an increased level of traffic as they come together and celebrate this accomplishment. Make sure to drive safe and slow as people will be out to celebrate with them.

We hope all of our graduates enjoy this time as they transition into the next chapter in life.

🚸 SCHOOL’S OUT – PLEASE WATCH FOR KIDS 🚸
Schools across Turner County are wrapping up for the year, which means more children will be out enjoying summer — walking, riding bikes, and playing around towns.
With increased activity comes an increased risk of accidents. We ask all motorists to:

Slow down, especially in town and residential areas
Stay alert at intersections and crosswalks
Watch carefully for kids who may enter the roadway unexpectedly

Parents and guardians: please remind children to use sidewalks when possible, look both ways before crossing streets, and wear helmets while biking.

Let’s work together to make this a safe and fun summer for everyone. Thank you for doing your part.
