Mrs. Goss's Science Discovery elective class has been busy building and experimenting! The students have made rubberband bungee cords, cranes, and solar ovens which they used to cook smores! Up next will be periscopes and slime!

Last year, DCSD Nutrition Services asked students to submit designs for a frozen yogurt lid design contest. After hundreds of entries, the winner seleced was from North Star Academy! Sahana B. was the winner! Congratulations on your creative design!

DCSD Nutrition services will provide an ice cream party to the entire 4th grade class.

Deputy Chance attended the National Association of School Recourse Officer school safety conference (NASRO) in Reno NV last week. He said that the conference taught him so much valuable information about how to keep our students and staff safe throughout the school year. He also wore his NSA shirt to represent!

Ms. Fischbach and Ms. Fenn went to Breckenridge for an InnEdCO conference.
The event is essentially a massive gathering for K-12 teachers, tech coaches, librarians, and school administrators to learn how to weave modern technology into everyday teaching. Instead of focusing purely on hardware and software, the core philosophy is “pedagogy first, technology second.”

Hopefully everyone is now warmed up after yesterday's Field Day! NSA showed such resilience yesterday. We didn't let a little cold and rainy weather keep us from celebrating with our community. Hard to believe we are at the final days of this 2025-26 school year.
