With summer in full swing drivers and citizens of Parker might be noticing more Golf Carts out and about. Recently the Police Department has been receiving numerous calls about our Golf Cart ordinance (Ordinance number 2012-4). A full copy of this ordinance can be viewed or copied at the Parker City Municipal Building.

So in an effort to assist we will give a few key points:
1. Only persons over 16 and holding a valid, current driver’s license may operate a Golf Cart.
2. Golf Carts must follow all rules of the road established for motor vehicles in the State of Indiana.
3. Golf Carts Can not be operated on State Road 32, however are allowed to cross State Road 32. Nor can Golf Carts be operated on sidewalks.
4. Golf Carts must have proof of financial responsibility (insurance)

(Please keep in mind that this is not all regulations for Golf Carts just commonly asked questions)

As always stay safe and have a great summer!
