It is operated and maintained by the Mt. Hood Towne Hall Association's volunteer board of directors, as a community-based non-profit organization. Mission S

tatement:Create and Maintain a thriving community center while preserving the historic Mt Hood Town Hall.Vision:Mt. Hood Town Hall will be an inclusive center where all Upper Valley residents can engage each other on equal terms in an historic building dedicated to cultivating community through meaningful programs and events. Our Roots: Serving the Upper Hood River Valley Mt Hood Town Hall has always been the center of our community. For more than 100 years this dear old building has and continues to serve the Upper Valley community. The original schoolhouse, the Mt Hood School, was completed in 1914. The building served as an elementary school until it closed in 1961. A church operated out of the building until the early 1973 when the building became vacant, fell into disrepair and was considered for demolition. Upper Valley residents worked with Hood River County to buy the building and formed the Mt. Hood Towne Hall Association in 1988 to restore the building and grounds to create a thriving community center. (MHTH Association’s volunteers have been responsible for all improvements since then.) Children returned to the building in 2009. Currently, Mid-Columbia Children's Council operates its Upper Valley/Parkdale Center Headstart preschool program in two of the four classrooms.

What a day! Spring Cleaning at the Town Hall was fabulous! Thanks to all who joined us to w**d and clear out the garden beds, scrub the baseboards, tables, chairs, etc. We got a LOT accomplished and couldn't have done it without Bob Dorband, David Thomson, Jordan Kim, Anna Diem, Jenni Donahue, Joan Laurance, Bob Danko, Karen Simakaski, Brian Simakaski, Dale Hill, John Weting, Gens Johnson, Doug Sharkey, Wyeth Droege, Andres Mercado, the fabulous women from StrongPeople (Kathy, Tania, Marny Weting, Lucy Hill and others I'm probably forgetting?!)
