Save the Fountain - Park River WCTU Fountain The Woman’s Christian Temperance Union (WCTU) provided funds to establish the fountain in the city park during the Temperance Movement.

Dedicated in 1906 it is one of a handful of such fountains remaining in the world. For further information or donations, please contact:

Exciting updates: reconstruction efforts have begun!

We've extracted a couple of blocks that will be shipped off to recreate the historic concrete rock-faced blocks matching the original structure. There was even a trove of 2 nickels and 3 broken soda bottles (Dr. Pepper, Pepsi, and NODAK Beverages) found inside the column behind the extracted block.

We are on track to complete the restorations before winter.

This holiday season, give a gift to the community of Park River by donating to Save the Fountain! We've almost met our fundraising goal to restore the WCTU Fountain in the Village Green Park, and construction is scheduled for next summer. Help us finish strong! All proceeds will go towards the restoration of the Park River WCTU Fountain.

Deck the Halls! Park River history playing cards make perfect stocking stuffers and are available for purchase at Jim's SuperValu. Shop local and pick up a few decks to give during the festive family fun on Super Santa Saturday, December 6!

We have exciting news to share: The restoration of the Park River WCTU Fountain is scheduled for summer 2026, with a final campaign to meet our fundraising goals.

While you are in Park River this 4th of July, be sure to take home a unique piece of Park River history and support the restoration of the WCTU Fountain! Our two custom Playing Card decks feature a collection of memorable facts and images from Park River's history.

Save the Fountain is calling on our community to share their memories of the WCTU Fountain!

We are collecting stories, recollections, and photos of the fountain. Let's capture your special memories and preserve our shared history while we work to restore the fountain!

Join us at our water sales events on July 4th or Dinner in the Park on Thursday, July 25, from 5 to 7 pm, where we will be collecting memories and scanning photos. Or send us a message.
