Our Reader Services department is the place to be today if you want a steal of a deal on music CDs, audiobooks on CD or Playaways! CDs starting at 25 cents, remarkable box sets at very special prices, and physical audiobooks are all part of this sale, 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday. (Children’s and teens materials are not a part of this sale.)

08/27/2026

The Friends of the Park Ridge Library will hold a one-time-only Legacy Media Sale at the Library on Saturday, August 29, from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Reader Services department. Music CDs, books on CD and Playaways – the preloaded audiobook device – will be sold directly off of the shelves.

The sale is being held as we make some changes to the collections offered in the Reader Services department. Due to declining circulation, we have made the decision to eliminate the Music CD and Audiobooks for Adults collection. Removing these collections allows us to repurpose shelving and space for new collections and services.

If you borrow items from this collection, we can still help you find what you need. Music CDs and physical audiobooks may be available from other libraries through interlibrary loan (ILL).

Digital options are available. Staff can help you access digital audiobooks through Libby and the Palace Project.

Let us know what you’re looking for, and we’ll help you find another way to access it.

This sale does not include CDs and audiobooks or Playaways from the Children’s or Teens departments.

Happy National Dog Day to Benny, Luna, Dee Dee and the many other good dogs who have visited the Library over the years to support our newest readers as they gain confidence reading in a judgement-free environment. They also join us for our monthly Sensory-Friendly Hour on the first Sunday of the month. We thank you for your service, here and everywhere else you work. 🐾📚😍

Read to the Dogs is a monthly program held in our first floor meeting room and is open to kids in first through fifth grade. Find details about how to sign up on our website calendar.

Sensory-Friendly Hour is held on the first Sunday of the month (unless it falls on a holiday weekend) from 11 a.m. to noon and is a drop-in event.
