Cougars with Excellence!! In the spotlight: Keys Speech & Debate teams! They are bringing home the hardware, prepping for regionals and have been formally recognized by Oklahoma House of Representatives member, Josh Brecheen for their achievements!
Mrs. Jessica Matthews proudly teaches, guides and leads these students in learning more than just how to get up and speak in front of a panel of judges and their peers. In her words, the skills these kids are learning "also teaches empathy and allows students to see the world through a different set of lenses. Debate requires students to create logical arguments with credible sources for both sides of the resolution. Other speaking events require students to learn to communicate, not just say words in front of a group of people. There is a difference!"
These students are world-changers in the making! Join me in celebrating EACH ONE of them individually!
