Trusted adults are important in helping bring awareness to and prevent child abuse. A trusted adult is chosen by the young person as a safe figure that listens without judgment, agenda or expectation, but with the sole purpose of supporting and encouraging positivity within a young person’s life. Trusted adults can be parents, teachers, coaches, neighbors, or others who are part of a child's life.

We can sometimes forget even being as close to the work as we are about the many secondary victims involved in each case. We can't forget about the absolute nightmare that those around family, friends, faith-community, and work community are dealing with, and this applies to the alleged victims and the alleged perpetrators of abuse. 🫶❤️
