What a morning! We are so proud to have taken part in this year's Miners' Day Parade alongside so many familiar faces. A special thank you to KPCW for walking with us and helping celebrate this beloved Park City tradition.

It's moments like these - community members lining the streets and organizations coming together - that remind us why this town is so special. Hope everyone had a fun and safe holiday weekend!

Recently, Park City Community Foundation's Youth United hosted its annual Fall Registration event for local families. With face painting and great company, 23 partner organizations came together to connect these families with the programs and services that support them. It's a great reminder of how strong this community is when we show up for each other.

A special thank you to Woodward and University of Utah Health Plans for hosting this year's event and helping make it possible.

At Summit County Clubhouse, a local nonprofit that helps people living with mental health and substance use challenges build connected, stable, and fulfilling lives, has partnered with WasteLess Solutions, a food rescue nonprofit, to help bring excess edible food to those who are food insecure in our community, all while helping keep food waste out of our landfill.

Park City Community Foundation's Zero Food Waste initiative helped bring WasteLess Solutions to Summit County. Since then, WasteLess Solutions has found that Community Fridges are a great operating model in the community. There are currently four locations throughout the area, with eight more on the way!

These kinds of partnerships are what will help us achieve the goal of zero food waste to the landfill by 2030. Thank you to WasteLess Solutions, Summit County Clubhouse, and every partner helping move Summit County closer to this goal. What a beautiful afternoon in the garden. We are so grateful to have brought together four incredible local nonprofits - People’s Health Clinic, Holy Cross Ministries, Artes De Mexico en Utah, and Summit Community Gardens & EATS - for a lunch and learn full of good conversation and even better company.

Guests heard firsthand about the needs these organizations see every day, the challenges they navigate, and the ways collaboration across Summit County’s nonprofit sector helps the community thrive. It was a powerful reminder that the strongest solutions often come from working together.

Thank you to everyone who joined us in the garden, and to these four organizations for the meaningful work they do year-round!

Dolly Parton passed away this week at age 80. Her Imagination Library turned a simple idea - that every child deserves books of their own - into a legacy that reached millions of families, including many right here in Summit County.

Park City Community Foundation's Early Childhood Alliance has funded and administered the Imagination Library for all of Summit County for years. It has helped deliver 47,000 books to Summit County children younger than five, regardless of family income. Each enrolled child receives a book addressed directly to them each month at no cost.

Right now, Operation Literacy is petitioning Utah lawmakers to fund the Imagination Library statewide, so every child in Utah can grow up with a book in their hands. Honor Dolly's legacy: sign the petition today and help bring her dream home to every corner of Utah.
