Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter

Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter 1,200-acre nature preserve and educational center located at the entryway of Park City. A 1200-acre Preserve, a 10,000 square ft.

Immerse yourself in our vibrant ecosystem, engage in hands-on educational programs, and learn about the natural world. LEED Platinum certified building, 10 miles of hiking trails, 1,400 students on field trips per year, and an education center for everyone from the youngest naturalists to the experienced birder, and everything in between! The Swaner Preserve and EcoCenter was gifted to Utah State

University in 2010. Preservation and ongoing restoration of the land is ongoing education, as well as public education. Facebook Comment Policy

That's a wrap on field trips for the school year! From first bird sightings through binoculars to discovering how animals survive in the wild, this year’s school programs connected students with the outdoors in meaningful ways. 🌿

We welcomed 2,667 students across 183 classes for hands-on environmental learning experiences that inspired curiosity, exploration, and a deeper appreciation for nature. Thank you to the educators, students, and supporters who made this year unforgettable!

This free program for 1st & 4th grade classes in Summit & Wasatch counties is made possible by the generous support of Vail Resorts EpicPromise Foundation and Park City Mountain Resort. We are so grateful for their commitment to helping students get outside to connect with and learn about nature!
