The Village of Parish, New York The Village of Parish is located in the Town of Parish, in Oswego County, north of Syracuse, New York.

The Parish Village offices are located at the Parish Village Gym, 2938 East Main Street (NYS Route 69). The Parish village board's regular meeting is on the third Wednesday of each month, and the public is welcome to attend these meetings. Board of Trustees:

The Parish water project is finally moving forward toward obtaining the much needed Water Infrastructure Improvement Grant (WIIA) from the state.

In total 1,328 of New York's 1,465 towns and villages or 90.6% could see their AIM funding eliminated. The Village of Solvay is at risk of losing about $173,000, Sullivan (Madison County) $96,000 and the Town of Clay $416,000.

Important Information

There is a Special Meeting regarding Water District 1 scheduled to be held at the Parish Fire Station at 7 PM on February 14th 2019.

Topic:
There was a Special Meeting held on Thursday, January 31st regarding a resolution to secure funding for proposed Water District 1. The purpose of that meeting was to discuss passing a bond (loan) to cover the cost of 4 studies, totaling a minimum of $287,000, that will be required in order for the WIIA grant to be submitted.

If the WIIA grant is received, this amount should be partially reimbursable by the grant.

-However-

If the WIIA grant is not received, District 1 property owners will be solely responsible for repayment of this entire amount, even if water does not go through. This is a concern as the public vote was to establish a water district with the understanding that there would be no costs if the WIIA grant was not approved.

PLEASE TAKE NOTICE, The Village of Parish is accepting letters of interest and or resumes for the vacancy to fill the remainder of a term for the Zoning Board of Appeals. The position begins immediately.
The ZBA meets on an as needed basis at 2938 East Main Street, Parish, N.Y. in the Village Gym. Requirements for the position are to be a Village of Parish resident, get at least 4 hours of training annually and attend all ZBA meetings. ZBA members consider variances and other related issues.

We are looking for someone to tend to the front of the Village office/gym to groom the hedge area. It would involve a few hours to get started to get it basically under control. The hedges would need to be trimmed, the ground around the hedge weeded, plastic put down and topped with mulch. Please call the Village Clerk, Evelyn for details.

Hey there Parish area people - Mark your calendars, August 11th will be Olde Home Day in Parish. This is an annual event modelled after an old time country fair. We invite local craftspeople, artists, farmers, collectors, organizations as well as vendors to come and share their stories and their wares. There are demonstrations, delicious homemade icecream, lots of opportunities to meet people and learn new things about your community. There will be music by the Lisa Lee starting at 11, and hots and hamburgs cooked fresh. We're still looking for more people to participate in this year's event. It is held on Saturday August 11th from 9am to 3pm, at the gazebo park in the center of the Village of Parish.
