🌾 Exciting news for conservation in Tennessee! 🌾Our partners in conservation at Tennessee Quail Forever are advancing a new specialty license plate initiative that supports habitat restoration, expanded public access to the outdoors, and education for the next generation of hunters and conservationists. TN Quail Forever shares SGI’s mission to restore grasslands in Tennessee.

Funds from the plate will help conserve northern bobwhite quail and native grassland habitats across the state. The plate costs $40, and 1,000 signatures are needed by June 30, 2027, before it can become available statewide.

Preorder your plate today and help invest directly in conservation in Tennessee at the following link:

We are thrilled to recognize the 2025 pollinator of the year – squash bees! This year’s honoree is a hard-working, dedicated species that excels at transferring pollen among the flowers of native squashes, pumpkins, and gourds. As specialists, these solitary bees are laser focused on their sole food source and have been known to efficiently visit all available squash flowers, rendering later visits by honeybees superfluous.

Outstanding pollination by squash bees contributed to the domestication, spread and production of squashes and gourds by indigenous peoples through the Americas. Please join us in celebrating these ground nesting pollinators for their exceptional contributions to delicious cucurbits. Contribute to their bright future by avoiding tillage where you plan to grow squash, zucchini, or pumpkins.
