🎶🏆 STATE SEMIFINALISTS! 🏆🎶

Congratulations to the North Lamar High School Wind Ensemble on advancing to the State Semifinals of the Texas Music Educators Association (TMEA) Honor Band Competition!

The Wind Ensemble earned 🥈 2nd Place in the Area Round, securing their spot among the top bands in Texas. Their submission included performances of Radiowaves by Fred Jewell, Saturn Returns by Michael Markowski, and An Original Suite by Gordon Jacob.

The TMEA Honor Band process recognizes outstanding band programs across the state through a highly competitive evaluation of recorded performances. Semifinal judging will take place July 15 in San Antonio during the Texas Bandmasters Association Conference, with finals scheduled for July 16.

A special congratulations to the students whose dedication and musical excellence helped earn this honor:

As North Lamar welcomes new members into the Board of Trustees, we also want to recognize those whose service and dedication helped lay the foundation for the future.

Since 2019, Bo Exum has served on the North Lamar ISD Board of Trustees, working alongside fellow board members and district leaders to support students, teachers, and staff while helping advance the mission of North Lamar ISD.

"It has been an absolute honor to serve on North Lamar ISD's Board of Trustees. I am incredibly proud of what we have accomplished together during my tenure, and working alongside each dedicated individual to support the students, teachers, and staff of North Lamar has been a deeply rewarding experience." says Mr. Exum.

Since 2022, Russell Jackson has served on the North Lamar ISD Board of Trustees, helping support decisions that have positively impacted students, staff, and families across the district. His thoughtful leadership and dedication to public education have helped move North Lamar forward.

As we welcome new members to the North Lamar ISD Board of Trustees, we also want to take a moment to recognize and thank those whose service helped shape the path before them.

After 12 years of dedicated service, Stephen "Red" Holmes concluded his tenure on the North Lamar ISD Board of Trustees in May. Throughout the years, Red has been a steadfast supporter of North Lamar students, staff, and families, helping guide the district through growth and progress while always keeping Panther Nation at heart.

"It has been an honor and privilege to serve the students, staff, and citizens of North Lamar... As I continue serving the citizens of Lamar County as Justice of the Peace, I will always be a supporter of North Lamar and our Panthers." says Mr. Holmes
