Tank levels are back up to normal this morning, thank you for conserving water. Reminder, we are under a boil order until further notice. Timeline is likely Wednesday or Thursday we will keep you updated.

Update:

The leak has been repaired, we are asking people to conserve water until full pressure is restored and tanks are full. Water will increase throughout the system over the course of the afternoon and evening. We will be under a precautionary boil order for everyone receiving water from the City of Paris and every outside water system we serve until further notice. That includes Central Logan, Greasy Valley, North Carbon City, and Gray Rock water associations. City of Ratcliff customers will also be affected and some City of Scranton customers. Thank you for your cooperation and patience.

Update:
Just received a phone call from water superintendent.

Both tanks have very little water, once the repair is made it will be a slow rebuild of pressure throughout the entire water system effecting all city of Paris water customers. Hydrants will have to be opened to help keep air out of the lines. Full pressure probably will not be restored until tomorrow with tanks refilling overnight. Make plans accordingly, we will continue to update as soon as we know more.

Update: the main water break is causing water to be low pressure over our entire city. Many are without water completely. Those in business, make decisions accordingly it will be this afternoon sometime before pressures are restored at the earliest. We will keep you updated as soon as we know more. Thank you for your patience.

City of Paris water customers west of 309/109 Elm Street will experience low water pressure or no pressure until a main line that feeds the west water tank is fixed. This will also affect Ratcliff water customers. Crews are on site but the repair will take some time today, early estimates are 3pm. We are getting reports of discolored water throughout our entire system, it is due to this leak if you experience that. We will keep you updated on here with updates as we receive them. No boil order is anticipated at this time. We apologize for the inconvenience and thank you for your patience.

*we are getting several reports of low or no pressure east of the areas described, it is still the same issue, the tanks now communicate between each other so we are still learning about how that communication effects our entire water system.

A letter from the desk of the Mayor -

“As Mayor, my primary concern, both now and long term, is keeping the citizens of Paris safe and doing what is best for the City of Paris and its residents.

Our Chief of Police has accepted a position with the Logan County Sheriff’s Office, and we appreciate his service to our community and wish him the best in his new role.

During this transition, the Paris Police Department will continue to protect and serve our community with the same commitment and professionalism our citizens expect. Leadership decisions regarding the future of the department will be made carefully and with the best interests of the city in mind.

Thank you to our officers, staff, and citizens for your patience, support, and understanding as we move through this process together.

I have a community coffee discussion that will come out later today describing what’s next for our police department and Monday night’s agenda. I will share it to my page and the City’s page. That’s where you will get accurate information.”
