Key Responsibilities:
Maintain safety, security, and order within the facility
Supervise inmates in housing units, recreation, and work assignments
Conduct searches, headcounts, and security checks
Enforce facility rules, policies, and procedures
Respond to emergencies and incidents professionally and effectively
Prepare reports and maintain accurate documentation
Transport inmates as required
Minimum Qualifications:
Must be at least 21 years of age
High school diploma or GED required
Valid driver’s license
Ability to pass background check and drug screening
Strong communication and decision-making skills
Ability to work in a structured, high-security environment
Schedule:
Work 7 out of every 14 days, allowing for more time off and better work-life balance
Benefits:
Competitive County 401(k) retirement plan
6.67 hours of sick and vacation time earned monthly
Fully paid medical, dental, and vision insurance
$2,000 secondary insurance coverage

The Bourbon County Regional Detention Center is proud to share that Eduardo Ramirez and Nathaniel Ferguson while housed at the Bourbon County Regional Detention Center have successfully earned their GED.

Completing an education program while incarcerated takes discipline, effort, and commitment. This achievement reflects the importance of providing opportunities for growth and accountability within our facility.

Education is a key step toward reducing recidivism and building a better future.

The Bourbon County Regional Detention Center is proud to recognize Deputy E. Dooley as our April Employee of the Month.
