What a great way to wrap up another Country Ham Project! Our 4-H'ers have spent the past several months learning about curing, preparing, presenting, and marketing their hams, in our own Ham Barn here in Bourbon County!

We are especially proud to recognize our participants who earned placements at the Kentucky State Fair and Bourbon County's Annual Livestock Show & Sale!

- 1st place Non-Smoked Ham (State Fair- 12 Year Old Division)
- 1st place Country Ham Basket Showmanship (Bourbon County Livestock Show & Sale)

- 3rd Place Country Ham Speech (State Fair- 12 Year Old Division)
- 3rd Place Overall Combined Ham Score (State Fair Speech/Ham Score- 12 Year Old Division)

- 2nd Place Country Ham Basket Showmanship (Bourbon County Livestock Show & Sale)

🍀 Beau Chaplin
- 3rd Place Country Hame Basket Showmanship (Bourbon County Livestock Show & Sale)

We also want to extend a special thanks to our local Farm Bureau Board, who funded our very own Ham Barn! Without your support, none of this would have been possible.

Join us for our Cloverbud Parent Meeting on September 21, from 6-7PM! We will be going over some important dates for our new Program Year, meeting the club members, and introducing our new Cloverbud Leader! Be sure to come say hello!

Cloverbud Club registration is now open, so feel free to reach out to the Bourbon County Extension Office to get signed up!

Ready to learn the basics of sewing and create something you can be proud of? Look no further! 🍀

Our Unit 1 Sewing program is perfect for beginners! This 6-week series will introduce youth to the fundamentals of sewing, while giving them the chance to create their own projects! Previous sewing experience is not required!

The 2026 Country Ham Project has come to an end!

Congratulations to J.W. Wyles, whose hard work throughout the project earned him FIRST PLACE in his age division!

This year was Bourbon County 4-H’s FIRST year curing, cleaning, and hanging our hams in our own Ham Barn here in Paris! Thank you to the Farm Bureau team for supporting the growth of our program and helping to provide this opportunity for the youth in our community! None of this would have been possible without your support and generosity!
