PUBLIC NOTICE
OPEN CANDIDATE POSITIONS — NOVEMBER 2026 ELECTION

The Henry County Election Commission is providing notice that two local offices remain open for the November 2026 Election.

No candidates qualified for these positions for the August 2026 election; however, the offices remain vacant and will be placed on the November 2026 ballot.

The following positions are open:

Road Board — District 4
Constable — District 4

Qualifying petitions are now available at the Henry County Election Commission Office.

If you are interested in becoming a candidate for either of these positions, please come to the Election Commission Office to obtain the appropriate qualifying petition.

Qualifying Deadline: September 9, 2026

All qualifying petitions must be properly completed and returned to the Election Commission Office no later than the qualifying deadline of September 9, 2026.

If you are interested in serving your community in either of these positions, we encourage you to obtain your petition and review the qualifying requirements as soon as possible.

We encourage everyone to pause before sharing or accepting information as truth. When you see something concerning, take the time to do your own research and seek information from reliable, official sources.

The Henry County Election Commission is committed to providing accurate and factual information about our elections and election procedures. If you have a question or concern about something you have seen or heard, please contact our office rather than relying solely on social media.

Please read carefully. Ask questions. Check your sources. Do your own research. And most importantly, make sure you know the facts before you share information with others.

Our elections are too important to allow misinformation, assumptions, or misinterpretations to create confusion.

Notice is hereby given that the Henry County Election Commission will make the audit for the August 6, 2026 Election available for public inspection.

The audit may be viewed at the Henry County Election Commission Office during regular business hours beginning August 25, 2026 through August 27, 2026.

Election Day is just 2 days away!

I've said it before, and I'll say it again: elections would not be possible without our poll workers.

The day is long, the hours are demanding, and the pay is minimal. Yet, year after year, these dedicated individuals show up with a smile, ready to serve the voters of Henry County. I truly believe Henry County has some of the very best poll workers anyone could ask for. Many of them have worked alongside me for years, and I am incredibly grateful for their commitment and service.

Whether you missed early voting or simply prefer to vote on Election Day, I ask one small favor—please take a moment to thank the poll workers who are there to assist you. A kind word and a little patience go a long way.

If you have a question or need assistance while voting, please don't hesitate to ask. If you have a concern or complaint, I encourage you to bring it directly to me. My goal is to ensure every voter has a positive, fair, and professional voting experience.

Thank you to our amazing poll workers for all you do, and thank you to the voters of Henry County for participating in our democracy.

📌 Post-It Tuesday (The post I wanted to make today)

As we approach the August 6, 2026 Election, I wanted to share a little information about voter turnout in Henry County.

Historically, August elections have had some of the lowest participation rates. Looking back over the past 30 years—from August 1996 through August 2024—here are the voter turnout percentages for each August election:

19.92%, 20.74%, 9.54%, 27.82%, 12.97%, 22.27%, 11.50%, 19.90%, 9.96%, 30.76%, 23.36%, 35.99%, 27.70%, 23.12%, and 20.71%.

The average voter turnout over those elections was 21.09%.

Every election matters, and every vote has the power to shape the future of our community. Don't let others make decisions for you.
