Red Horsechestnut in bloom now. Aesculus X Carnea, and I am quoting from the Study Guide to the Arboretum. It can get to 30 or 40 feet high - this is a young tree - and is often used as a specimen tree in public areas. It is a hybrid and one of its parents is the Red Buckeye, also in the Arboretum.
