Today’s State Fire School Spotlight features our Exhibit Showcase, commonly referred to as “the vendor show”. For 2026, the vendor show will be held on the 3rd floor of Central Bank Center in Exhibit Halls A & B on Friday, June 12 from 2:30-6:30pm.

Attendees should park in the High Street Parking Lot across from the Rupp Arena/Central Bank Center complex and enter through the Central Bank Center doors. Parking is a flat fee of $12.00 + tax. Hourly parking rates are not available.

The Exhibit and Vendor Showcase is the one of the largest displays of emergency service equipment, supplies, and services in Kentucky. Exhibitors come from several states showing everything from collectibles to fire apparatus. We appreciate the continued support of our vendors and exhibitors. State Fire School would not be successful if not for the devoted following of these loyal friends. Please take advantage of this opportunity to visit and get any questions answered at a face-to-face meeting. Also, please keep these vendors at the top of your list when it comes to purchasing apparatus and equipment for your department or organization.

We are excited to announce that firefighter/paramedic/comedian/author/speaker “The Salty Paramedic” will be appearing at this year’s vendor show! Be sure to stop by his booth to say hello!

The Exhibit Showcase is free and open to everyone; you do not have to be a State Fire School student to attend.

Today’s State Fire School Spotlight features Class #515 – Firefighter Cancer Support Network: You Fight Fire, We Fight Cancer.

The harsh reality is that almost two-thirds of the firefighters battling fires today will be battling cancer tomorrow. Cancer remains the leading cause of line-of-duty deaths among firefighters. By making a meaningful contribution to our mission, to assist firefighters and EMS providers and their immediate families diagnosed with cancer through our unique support services, we can make a greater impact on our nation’s heroes battling cancer. The goals of this class will be to educate firefighters and EMS Personnel about their increased risk of developing cancer; encourage actions and behaviors to reduce or prevent exposure to occupational cancer hazards; encourage healthy lifestyle choices to further reduce cancer risk; and provide information about screenings and early detection, have conversations about culture change, and share resources available to firefighters, EMS personnel, and their families following a cancer diagnosis.

Instructor Marc Henderson is the SFRT Region 1 Coordinator and also serves as the Kentucky State Director of the Firefighter Cancer Support Network.
