Its the last day of August, World Breastfeeding Month. We love and support all our WIC participants, whatever their feeding choice!
If you are a pregnant or breastfeeding WIC participant and have not yet come around and gotten our breastfeeding goodie bag, come on by the drive through! We have a few left and will be giving them out until they are gone.

Celebrate World Breastfeeding Month with us!
Post your favorite breastfeeding photos, memes or tips and tricks in the comments! I'll go first.
Did you every wonder why some women can pump large volumes and feed infrequently while others pump just enough and have to feed every 2-3 hours. Its the concept of 'storage capacity'. Most all breastfed babies thrive on 24-30 oz of milk a day. They can get this as 3 oz or so every 3 hours, 2 oz every 2 hours or 4 oz every 6 hours.
This is a chart from Nancy Mohrbacher who is one of the most well know IBCLCs out there. A real OG!

Did you know its World Breastfeeding Month?
I'll be sharing resources and education all month long!
Today featured site is the Texas HHS site https://breastmilkcounts.com/
It has lots of educational pages and includes the Texas Lactation Hotline 855-550-6667 which is available 24/7 including holidays.
You can call the WIC office during the day 903-784-1411 and get our peer counselor Patricia and the Iactation consultant Dr. Moore is there Monday mornings and Thursday afternoons but any time of day you can get help at 855-550-6667 and you don't have to have WIC to call!

Breastfeeding is important to both baby and mom so Breastmilk Counts wants to help new and expectant mothers with all their baby nursing concerns and needs.

Its August and we are celebrating World Breastfeeding Month with information for you about breastfeeding.
While many assume lactation help is pushy and all about exclusive breastfeeding, that isn't our philosophy. We want to provide education about what is normal for breastfeeding, if there even is such a thing. Knowing what is normal physiology for how to establish and maintain a breast milk supply for as long as you want! We help moms with low supply and oversupply. We provide education about how to reach YOUR goals and about what is realistic. I feel like this graphic explains it well.
Call us if you need help or want to attend a breastfeeding class, prenatal and after the baby comes!
