Last week, we hosted the Henry County Youth Leadership Class for a Lifeskills day! We had a ball! Cody Bryson lead a great “hands-on” class on tire changing, how to jump off a vehicle, and what’s what under the hood. Michele, Cherry, and Lacy Yeley- Carroll County FCS agent, taught a canning class where youth made and canned strawberry jam. Learning how to sew on a button and discovering their love/relationship language rounded out the day! Thank you to Jessica French who asked us to be part of their leadership experience!

Spring Fling was held last week for Henry County FCE members! Everyone enjoyed our guest speakers and a catered lunch. Our first speakers were Jessica Crouch, City of Paris Community Development Director and Abby Pierce, City of Paris Community Engagement Coordinator giving us updates on new projects, along with statistics and trends. Their program was followed by city PD officers, Chris Roberson and Jimmy Newman providing information on new scams and avoiding fraud. Our final speaker for the day was Riley Schoolfield, owner of Schoolfield Pharmacy, who gave us information on vitamin D and the role it plays in our bodies. It was a FANTASTIC educational day!

We had such an incredible week teaching money skills to the 1st and 2nd graders at Henry Elementary School! Watching their excitement as they learned and understand more about the value of money was truly rewarding.

It was especially meaningful to have state representative, Tandy Darby join us on the final day. We are so grateful for the amazing support from the 1st and 2nd grade teachers and principal, Ashley James, who made this possible.

Moments like these remind us why we love what we do.❤️
