During National Police Week, we always take time to show appreciation for the men and women who serve our community. At today’s appreciation lunch, we were proud to recognize two outstanding officers for their dedication and service.

Lieutenant Zach Carper was named Officer of the Year, an honor voted on by his fellow officers. Since joining the department in 2015, Lt. Carper has consistently led by example. As the department’s fi****ms instructor, he plays a vital role in training and mentoring new officers while always stepping up to make sure fellow officers have the tools and training they need to succeed. We are grateful for his leadership and commitment to the City of Paris.

We also presented a special Life Saving Award to Patrol Officer Johnathon Bruner. Officer Bruner was nominated by Lt. Carper for his quick action and diligence in properly applying and maintaining a tourniquet on a bleeding victim, ultimately helping save a life.

Please join us in congratulating these deserving officers and thanking them for their service to our community.

All hands were on deck for the World’s Biggest Fish Fry Grand Parade! Every member of the Paris Police Department was on hand, focused on maintaining safety and keeping traffic flowing smoothly, while our Public Works team handled everything from sanitation to barricade setup behind the scenes. 💙

Even after the parade, the work didn’t stop. Our crews were right behind the parade with the street sweeper and water and sanitation trucks, quickly cleaning and restoring the streets.

It takes everyone working together to make events like this possible, and we’re proud to support one of our community’s most beloved traditions. 🐟
