It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of Kenneth Dennis McPherson, Esq. Kenneth was the father of longtime Rutherford committeeman David McPherson and father-in-law of former mayor and former County Freeholder Bernadette McPherson.

During the course of his career he served as Assistant Hudson County Prosecutor, Warden of the Hudson County Jail, State Secretary of Tax Appeals and Port Authority Commissioner among other roles. His counsel was sought by countless clients, Mayors, Senators, and Governors.

Our sincerest condolences go out to his family and friends during this time. We thank Kenneth for his expert knowledge of the law and using it to help make New Jersey a better place.

Family and friends will be received Thursday morning, September, 3, 2026 9:30 am to 12 Noon followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Saint Mary’s Church, 91 Home Avenue, Rutherford, NJ.

Thanks to everyone who came out for a wonderful night in support of Linda Schwager for Surrogate — the energy and enthusiasm in the room was truly inspiring!

We’re grateful to be surrounded by so many friends and supporters who believe in Linda’s leadership and dedication to public service. There’s no doubt she’s going to be an incredible Surrogate for the people of Bergen County.
