🎉 We are honored to announce Rev. James Cha as a plenary speaker for CMC Global 2027! 🎉

Rev. James Cha was born in Pusan, Korea, and immigrated to the U.S. when he was eight years old. He studied electrical engineering at Cornell University, where, in 1983 he committed his life to be Christ’s ambassador to the Muslims. He worked 10 years as an electrical engineer before earning MA in Biblical Exposition at Columbia Biblical Seminary in South Carolina. He and his wife, Faith, took their three kids to Central Asia, where they served ten years (2000 – 2010) as church planting missionaries with Pioneers. By God’s grace over 120 Muslims came to faith in Jesus during that period. They are now back in the U.S. reaching out to people of all nations in northern Virginia. They are on staff with Bethany Global, and also serve as directors of ESL ministry at Cornerstone Chapel in Leesburg. They are committed Perspectives instructors, having taught over 320 classes since 2013 across the continental U.S. Pastor James has written a book titled: Fear Not: Living a Life of No Regrets. They have three grown children and one grandchild.

Praise the Lord for your willingness to intercede for the Chinese Mission Convention (CMC) Global 2027. Here are our prayer requests for Oct – Dec 2026:

1) Praise the Lord for the joint meeting of the Steering and Planning Teams planned for November 2 in Sacramento. We have also invited the local pastors to join us for the morning of the meeting.

2) Pray for the Steering Team and Planning Team to be in-step with the Lord's plan for CMC. Both teams meet monthly. Ask the Lord to send us the right people to fill all the roles on the Planning Team: we are looking for leaders for the English program, Youth Program and Children’s program.

3) Pray for the Lord to open the door for the Chinese churches to come together for the fulfillment of the Great Commission. We praise the Lord for strong church partnerships! As the Lord leads, we welcome more churches to join with us.

4) Please pray for the speakers that will bring the Lord's message to us at CMC: Keynote, Plenary, Testimony and Workshop speakers. May the Lord reveal the right speakers, and go ahead of us to open the way for the invitations.

At Missio Nexus’ Mission Leadership Conference, the closing keynote speaker, Dr. Ted Esler, spoke about “Why Discipleship Should Be Hard?” He mentioned that programs can scale, content can spread, and events can grow. But deep discipleship takes time, relationship, patience, and presence.

A question we are taking home:
Are we simply reaching more people, or are we helping people become mature disciples of Jesus? Some of the most important ministry work is slow, deep, and relational.

10/02/2026

From September 23 to 25, we had the opportunity to attended a Missio Nexus' mission leadership conference in Florida with 1000+ senior missions leaders and 300+ agencies and churches represented. We were in the room where missions get stronger together. The conversations and connections reshaped how we think about the work. Our hearts are grateful for every conversation and connection! We left the conference encouraged by passion, challenged by the ideas brought up in the plenary sessions and workshop, and energized by the next steps we will take.

We are reminded that God's grace and power will sustain us when we step out in faith. In the recent symposium, "Letting Go or Going Along? A Parent's Heart to Youth Missions," we heard honest testimonies of how parents and teens relied on God's strength when going on short term missions trip. We praise God for that they were able to share and encourage us with their experiences with us.

Please pray with us:
🙏 Pray that the symposium video recording would reach every parent and teen who needs to hear about youth and missions.
🙏 Pray that the stories would encourage and bless families as they prayerfully consider going on short-term missions together.
